CONDITION GUIDE
Mood Changes and Irritability
Snapping at small things, feeling on edge for no clear reason, or noticing your patience has worn thinner than usual isn’t something you should just chalk up to a bad week. For a lot of men, shifts in mood and irritability point to something physical happening beneath the surface, not just stress piling up.
SYMPTOM CHECK
Have You Noticed This in Yourself?
Small frustrations set you off more than they used to
Your patience with family or coworkers has worn thin
You feel irritable without an obvious trigger
Your mood shifts throughout the day without warning
People close to you have mentioned you seem different lately
You feel more on edge, even in situations that used to feel manageable
WHAT'S BEHIND IT
What Could Be Causing This
Mood and irritability are shaped by more than just circumstance. A few physical factors tend to play a bigger role than most men realize.
Hormonal imbalance
Testosterone helps regulate mood stability, and when levels drop, irritability and emotional swings often follow, even when nothing else in life has changed.
Cortisol overload
Chronically elevated stress hormones can leave your nervous system in a near-constant state of alert, making everyday frustrations feel bigger than they are.
Sleep disruption
Fragmented or insufficient sleep directly affects emotional regulation, which is why mood problems and poor sleep so often show up together.

QUESTIONS
Frequently Asked Questions
Can low testosterone really affect mood?
Yes. Testosterone plays a role in regulating mood and emotional stability, so a decline can show up as irritability or unpredictable mood shifts.
How do you know it's hormonal and not just stress?
We start with bloodwork to check your hormone levels alongside a review of your history, so we’re not guessing between the two.
Will this feel like I'm being medicated into a different personality?
No. The goal is to restore balance, not change who you are. Most men describe feeling more like themselves, not different from themselves.
How is my treatment plan decided?
Everything starts with comprehensive labs. Your plan is built around your actual results, not a general recommendation.
How soon will I notice a difference?
Many men notice steadier moods within the first few weeks, with fuller results building over two to three months.
Do I need to live in Omaha to start treatment?
Our office is based in Omaha, NE, but many men across Nebraska are treated through telehealth with medication delivered directly to them.
